The Wedding of Tracy & Robert. The Gathering, Muirhead, 2nd February 2022

Updated: Feb 11

It was my very great pleasure to provide the photography at the wedding of a really

great couple, Tracy & Robert at the beautiful venue "The Gathering" in Muirhead on Tuesday 2nd February 2022. I first met Tracy and Robert and their lovely young daughter Eilish last month at their Pre Wedding Shoot at Peel Park in Kirkintilloch, I knew almost immediately that we were all going to get on really well working together on their big day. When Tracy and Robert first got in contact with me to say that they would like me to photograph their wedding I asked them to tell me something of their story, so please read on below to get a feel of this lovely couples love story.

Tell us how you first met. Who, what, when, where, why? Give us the dirty details. Met in 2012. Robert was a mechanic and I had car troubles so asked his advice. He took my number and called me the next day….1 week later we moved in together! Our wedding day will be our 10 year anniversary.

When did you know he/she was the one? Was there something he/she did?, etc.Almost immediately for both of us. There wasn’t one particular thing, it was everything. We just completely clicked from the very first time we spoke.

Tell us about the proposal. (Did you see it coming, how long was it in the planning? , how did you feel? Nervous, excited, freaking out?) Shock proposal in the living room on an average weekday afternoon around 6 years ago. Not exactly the most romantic setting but it was definitely a surprise!

Tell us the one thing you love most about each other. We’re just 100% each other’s best friend. No doubt in either of our minds that we have each other’s back in any situation and where one person may be lacking, the other fills the gap.

If you feel comfortable, please share with us something sill or quirky the other person does.Robert talks in his sleep - a LOT! He’s come out with some crackers over the years, mainly food related…unfortunately our daughter is following in her father’s footsteps with this one!

Robert would like to point out that on ONE occasion Tracy barked like a dog in her sleep so that makes us even! :-D

Besides getting married – what’s the one thing you are looking forward to on your wedding day? Finally having the same surname as my daughter! And of course just celebrating our wedding and 10 years together surrounded by family and friends.

What’s your theme or what inspired your décor? The venue completely dictates the decor. It’s a beautiful converted barn, it’s very rustic, very Braveheart and absolutely stunning. We didn’t care where we got married, it was just a formality until we saw this place, then we took one look at it and didn’t want to get married anywhere else.

What’s one thing you wish you would have known earlier in regards to planning your wedding? Don’t delegate jobs that are very important to you! Despite best intentions, other people won’t necessarily prioritise things the way you would, or arrange things within suitable timescales. This can lead to serious frustration and disappointment! But conversely, don’t sweat the small stuff, and absolutely delegate smaller jobs/less important things to trusted friends/family!
